Mihály Tabányi (1921-2017) was a world-famous accordionist and one of the most popular jazz musicians of the 1940s and 1950s, and is credited with introducing the swing style to Hungary. He performed with many national and international stars, both at home and abroad, and his work represents an important chapter in the history of popular music. In 2021 the Museum of Music History and the National Society of Accordion Players is commemorating the 100th anniversary of the great musician’s birth with an exhibition.
